MIGUEL VASQUEZ

PRAYER & OUTREACH PASTOR

Miguel was born and raised in a devout Catholic home and very grateful for the foundation his parents and grandparents formed in him. By the time he was in his 40s he had walked away from the church to venture off on his own in the world. His wife Sylma still had a desire for the family to attend church together but Miguel had no interest. Then one rainy Tuesday morning in March of 2012, Miguel was driving on Hempstead Turnpike on his way to work and a sudden urge to look over to his right came over him. He had enough time to see a building and the name on the outside saying Living Faith Christian Church. He called his wife to tell her about the church and his wife asked him to go with her. He chose to go that day and that decision changed his life. He experienced that morning what it feels to be seen, heard and loved by God.

Miguel has served the Lord at LFCC in various ways: as an usher, on the Missions Committee, at the Connection Desk and as an Elder. In 2023, at the same time he was serving on the Search Committee seeking the new Pastor God would call, he met Pastor Scott who offered him an opportunity to come join his staff. Shortly thereafter, he lost his job and clearly the Lord was calling him to change direction and walk on another path. Miguel trusted in the Lord and came to work at Living Faith as the Director of Prayer and Outreach since September of 2023. He  answered the call to serve as a Pastor at Living Faith in March of 2025  and is planning on attending seminary to further grow his knowledge and understanding of the calling.

Miguel and his wife Sylma live in West Babylon and have three children, Michael, Madison and Rebecca. They welcomed their first grandchild, Abigail, into the world in December of 2024.
