The Bridge

Exodus 14:10-31

PASTOR mike mahlstedt

When Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005, residents of New Orleans’ Lower Ninth Ward fled to the Claiborne Avenue Bridge. It was a refuge that couldn’t stop the storm but stood firm when everything else gave way.
Our lives have moments like that. When the waters rise and we feel trapped between what’s chasing us and what’s blocking us.

In Exodus 14:10–31, Israel faces a similar crisis. From this passage we will learn four life-shaping truths for our journey with Christ: fear reveals our need, faith responds in stillness, obedience advances forward, and deliverance leads to deeper faith.

When pressure mounts and the path seems impossible, the Lord still makes a way. He can turn what stands before us into a bridge to the other side.
