We tack “In Jesus’ Name, Amen” onto our prayers as if it were a magic phrase that guarantees God will say yes to whatever we have requested—healing, jobs, relationships, or specific outcomes. But in John 14, Jesus explains that praying in his name is not a formula to get our will done; it is a way of asking for what aligns with his Father’s work, his glory as God the Son, his commandments, and the Spirit of truth.
