a letter from Edgar reyes

Dear Beloved Church Family,

After much prayer, reflection, and a heart full of gratitude, I write to share that I will be retiring from my role as Operations Director, effective February 10, 2026.

Living Faith has been far more than a place where I worked—it has been holy ground for me. Over the past 13 years, this church has shaped my faith, my calling, and my life. From the very beginning, I never viewed this as a career. I saw it as a ministry. There were no titles to chase, only hands to extend, prayers to offer, and people to love. Serving this congregation has been one of the greatest privileges God has ever given me.

My journey here began as a volunteer during Superstorm Sandy in October 2012. In the midst of uncertainty and loss, I witnessed the compassion, generosity, and listening hearts of this church. That season opened my eyes to what it truly means to serve—and it confirmed that Living Faith was a place where God’s love was not just spoken but lived.

Throughout my time here, I have been deeply blessed by the friendships formed, the prayers lifted together, the tears shared, and the moments of joy when we saw God’s faithfulness unfold before us. You, the Staff Members, both past and present, Elder Board, Ambassadors, Finance Committee and other volunteers have walked with me through seasons of growth, health challenges, and grace. This church has never felt like an organization—it has always felt like family.

As I step into this next chapter, I do so with peace, trusting fully in God’s continued work. I look forward to spending more time with Deborah, embracing a slower pace, and listening for what the Lord may be calling me to next. Though my role is changing, my love for this church never will. Living Faith will always remain in my heart and in my prayers.

Thank you for allowing me the sacred honor of serving you. May God continue to guide and bless this congregation, and may His love always remain at the center of all that you do.

With deep love, humility, and gratitude,

Edgar Reyes
Operations Director
