Medical Team guidelines for Living Faith Christian Church

Please review the guidelines below that apply to all who are serving at living Faith Christian Church Medical Team.
It is important to note that we are not a Medical Facility and our goal is to be prepared to handoff any Medical Emergency to EMS when they arrive.

Medical Liability

At no time will any volunteer from Living Faith Christian Church draw blood for any reason. This included taking glucometer readings, insertion of insulin needles or any other puncturing of the skin. The person in need of medical support may do those things on their own. At no time will any volunteer perform these procedures regardless of their medical background.

Calling of Ambulance/EMS

The medical team member will assess the situation and based on their direction; a request will be made to a member of the Connection Team via the radio to call for support. For all medical emergencies, a call will be made to the Farmingdale Fire Department for Ambulance and EMS. The local Fire Department Phone Number is listed at the Connection Desk.

Communications

Communication during a medical emergency is critical. All Medical Team members are provided radios on the week they serve. These radios are used to inform the medical team members of an emergency and for the medical team to communicate with Connection Team regarding ambulance and EMS dispatch. Please be mindful of maintaining strong communication with others.

Incident Report

An incident report needs to be completed by the Medical Team member on duty  for each and every medical incident that occurs on campus. The reports are located in each medical bag. Please complete the report in its entirely and hand to Connection Team member to place in the basket that will come to the Office
